A Messy 3-Twist Hairstyle Tutorial

The internet is awesome! I know you already know this, but I couldn’t help but marvel at it once again when I received an email from Destri yesterday sharing this awesome 3-twist hairstyling tutorial with me. You see, a couple weeks ago I had repinned a pretty hairstyle photo on Pinterest, adding beneath it that I wished that I could learn how to recreate the look somehow. Well Destri spotted my pin and said she’d be happy to create a tutorial for it. And now…just a short time later I have the directions at my very fingertips! Love it! Thank you so much Destri. Pop over to The Mother Huddle for the full hairstyling tutorial. It sounds like she is gearing up to create more in the future too…so be sure to keep her on your radar. xo Ez

From Wares to Wear: Make this Painting into an Outfit

I cannot stop staring at this exquisite Blue Owl painting by artist Michelle Morin of Unitedthread (this original painting is mind-boggling too – actually all of her work is) so I decided the next best thing to owning it (which I might still need to do) would be to use it to inspire a wares to wear post. Woohoo!

I imagine this to be the perfect outfit for an evening out (ideal for a night owl – harhar). To keep things from looking too stiff, I’d wear the blouse with the sleeves partially rolled up (I might even cuff the pants), would slip the gold bangles on my wrist, and would then finish the whole look off with some jet black mascara and sheer gloss on my lips. What do you think? Do you have a favorite painting or home decor item that you’d love to see made into an outfit? I’d love to see! You can find my first two Wares to Wear posts. xo Ez

Color Crush: Black Gold

I know…Summer is still in full-swing, but I couldn’t help but notice the overwhelming number of faintly fall-like black and gold pretties that I’ve been bookmarking online lately. Maybe it’s my heat-weary mind trying to find whatever relief it can…the promise that Fall really will come again (despite the seemingly endless 100 degree weather). Whatever the case, maybe you too will enjoy indulging in a little black gold love with me today. I hope so. xo Ez
