Every year around this time, I start chomping at the bit for apple picking season to begin. Fortunately for me, Sunday turned out to be the very first official day of open season, so my daughter and I hopped in our car and drove to SLO Creek Farms for an afternoon of apple-picking fun.
Since only one crop of apples was ready for harvest we spent a bit of time exploring their property and enjoying every minute of it.
This was our first time visiting the SLO Creek Farm, and I was happy to learn that their produce is organic, and that they not only offer apples, but pick-your-own flowers, pumpkins, and more!
You can bet we’ll be back again soon. Now I just need to decide what to make with our apple haul. These amazing Apple Ring Fritters from a couple of years ago are singing their siren song to me. Yum!
