A few weeks ago I posted about these sweet DIY Faux Floral Crowns by Kelli Murray, so when my daughter suggested that she might like to try to make some over the weekend, it was as good as done. We picked up all of our supplies at Michael’s (most of the flowers were from the discount bin) and after queueing up an episode of Ugly Betty to play in the background (we just started watching it for the first time on Netflix), we got right to work.
Despite what you might assume (or what I might wish for), my daughter doesn’t always have a burning desire to craft with me…so making these crowns together was a real treat! It took us about an hour to create the three that we ended up with. As luck would have it, just as we were finishing up, the evening sun was entering that perfect “golden hour” that makes any photo magical. So, inspired by the gorgeous light and whimsical crowns we had just created, we ran outside for an impromptu photoshoot. So much fun!
Check out the tutorial on Kelli Murray’s Blog if you’d like to make your own! Thanks Kelli for the wonderful tutorial and inspiration! xo Ez
