Domino Magazine: Quick Fixes

A collective cheer was recently heard round blogosphere (and I’m adding my voice today) when the shuttered-and-very-much-missed Domino Magazine announced that they would be publishing a few special issues. The first one hit newsstands this month, and I thought I’d share a few peeks inside my copy with you (you’re going to have to snag your own copy to see the rest).

Yes, it might cover stories that they’ve already published in their old issues, but there is still plenty to love…from the gorgeous typography:

…to small details like these “I heart this” bookmarking corners (the most charming thing ever):

Here’s a peek at just one corner that I organized in my office after reading the issue once through. It might not be Domino-worthy, but it looks a lot nicer now than it did before:

Seriously though…any magazine that can inspire me to completely reorganize and clean my house and office during my precious weekend time, is ace in my book. Thanks Domino for doing what you do! I hope to see much more of you in the very near future. xo Ez

And here’s a wee snapshot of my beloved saved issues of Domino from year’s past. I still read and love them!

Oh, excited to pick up my copy now! Maybe it will inspire me to start redecorating parts of my space too. :)

Just this week I dragged a bunch of my saved magazines over to my sister in-law (she and my brother are about to close on their first house!) so she could get some ideas and was sharing the sad tale of how my all time fave magazines Domino and Blueprint are no more. So I am so happy to see that they are putting anything out. I think I'll have to pick up two copies; one for me and one to give my sister!

I just picked that issue up, as well. I really miss the monthly mag. I still have all of my old copies, too. It was my absolute fave magazine!

I almost fainted when I heard about this! Love the little vignette you created, I think it's definitely Domino worthy!

Oh my! This magazine looks lovely. I'm loving the "I heart this" foldable corners!!! So sad that I'm learning about it after its regular publication has ceased.

I saw a copy the other day. At first, I thought I didn't want it, since so much content was repeated, but the more I see posts about the new issue, the more I want it! It's certainly easier than sorting through the box crammed with my old copies…oh, I miss Domino.

So jealous that you saved all of your old Domino issues! I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed by the special issue. I knew it was going to be a collection of previously published material, but I felt like it was lacking. Maybe it just made me miss the previous incarnation of Domino even more!
